Family Photography Questionnaire


Hello and thank you for being here! I am beyond excited for our session, so let's dive into what to expect and some tips!


During our session, our primary focus will be on capturing candid photos that tell your beautiful story and show genuine emotions. Think of it as a fun playdate with your family!


  • If you have a younger child, be sure to bring along some of their favorite toys to keep them engaged and happy. For older children, I find that making the photoshoot sound like an exciting adventure works wonders! You can talk about me as a family friend to help build trust and encourage them to open up more easily. Describe how we'll explore a new location together and emphasize how much fun we'll have. It's important not to frame it as a chore by promising rewards afterward for good behavior, although a little bribery with their favorite snack can be a great motivator. I recommend saving the snack as a reward for after the shoot, but if necessary, it can be a useful last resort during the session.


  • Kids may sometimes be fussy or in need of comforting during the session, and that's perfectly okay! Embrace these moments and use them as opportunities for genuine interactions. If your baby is fussy, take the chance to cuddle them, soothe them, and shower them with love and kisses. These authentic interactions often result in precious, emotive photos that you'll cherish forever.


Wardrobe



Now, let's talk wardrobe. I suggest opting for neutral, relaxed clothing for the parents. Earthy pastel colors work well, while it's best to avoid bright, loud colors that might affect skin tones in photos (such as bright red or bright blue). Aim for a minimalistic style without loud patterns. A simple maxi dress or a casual off-white sweater would be great for moms, while dads could go for a pair of jeans paired with a casual button-up, V-neck, or t-shirt.


For the kids, aim to complement each other with colors rather than matching exactly. Consider pastel colors paired with white, dark green paired with brown, and so on.


Most importantly, choose outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. When you feel good, it shines through in the photos!
